Come and visit HPW's Self-Care Station out in front of the Student Services Building!

Their stations highlight that self-care is not a luxury, but a way to check in with oneself and promote positive mental health. Each self-car station provides a space and activity to learn about various self-care strategies, including:

  • Self-reflection
  • Practicing gratitude
  • Engaging different senses (i.e. aromatherapy)
  • Accessing campus resources

Chopped Cooking Challenge

Gaaators, are you ready to test your cooking, creativity, and speed skills? 🍳

Welcome to the Chopped challenge hosted by Food+Shelter+Success for the 2023 Hunger and Houselessness Awareness Week (HHAW)!

Inspired by Food Network's cooking competition show, Chopped, students will compete in teams before a panel of judges to turn four mystery ingredients into a delicious dish. Teams will be judged on the tastiness of the dish, presentation, and cleanliness of their cooking station.

Capacity is limited to 20 competitors and sign-ups are first come, first serve! If you think you can help your team survive the chopping block, click ahead to sign up and learn more about the rules! 🔥🔪

The competition will take place on November 13th (Time location TBD but will be after 3pm).

Chopped challenge rules:
- Each team will have 4 to 5 chefs
- Teams to cook 4 ingredients from Gator Groceries pantry to use for their dish
- Teams will be scored on how well their dish tastes, the presentation, and how clean their cooking station is at the end of each round

We're excited to be partnering with SFSU Dietetic Program, Associated Students Food Pantry/Gator Groceries Program, and the Nutrition team at Health Promotion and Wellness to host this challenge!
