Emergency Meal Card Applications Live

This community meal-sharing program helps elevate student food security by providing free meals at City Eats Dining Hall to SF State students facing barriers accessing enough food.

  • The Emergency Meal Card Program is a partnership with Sodexo, who donates 2000 meals to FSS every semester so that we can provide these meal cards.

  • Meal cards are reserved for students who currently do not have access to food. This program is not intended to be a supplement for a meal card or students who need to find ways to cut the cost of purchasing food. This is for emergency situations.

  • Students can receive one card per semester. If a student needs additional cards, they will need to meet with an FSS Staff member via the Request Form to discuss longer-term solutions for food security. This may or may not include a second card.

  • Meal cards hold 10 meals and can only be used at City Eats on campus.

Emergency Meal Cards Updates for Fall 2023

Due to the high need and impact on our office, we are changing the process to be an online application (no more walk-ins) where you will need to complete the application and schedule a pick up time.

We appreciate everyone's patience as we finalize our process! The online application will go live on our website starting August 28th, 2023 starting at 8 AM.

If you need additional basic needs services, please fill out our request form below!
